Christie Lou Mitchell has practiced law in Florida since 2009 and is Board Certified in Marital and Family Law, a distinction earned by fewer than 5% of Florida attorneys through rigorous testing, peer review, and substantial courtroom experience. Her private practice has focused on family, business, and real estate matters, giving her a broad perspective on the civil docket. She is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida.

She currently serves as Chair of the Orange County Bar Association Family Law Committee (2025–2026) and has previously served as Co-Chair and Treasurer. She also participates in multiple Florida Bar committees and has co-authored amicus briefs for the Family Law Section, contributing to appellate matters that influence court practice statewide.

Christie Lou Mitchell believes a judge’s first responsibility is to the Constitution and the rule of law. Her legal experience, combined with lessons learned from her experiences in a diverse community, allows her to fairly evaluate the unique circumstances of every person who comes before the court. She believes that in serving the public, judges must always remember where they came from and stay grounded in the realities of the communities they serve.

Practicing in the Ninth Judicial Circuit — a community of families, small businesses, and neighbors from many backgrounds — has strengthened her ability to reach well-reasoned decisions that serve the entire community. Christie is committed to fairness, consistency, and integrity, ensuring that everyone who enters the courtroom is treated with dignity, respect, and patience. She believes that good judging begins with listening, careful attention to the facts, thoughtful consideration of the law, and an open, impartial mind.

Christie Lou Mitchell is a lifelong Orlando resident, with family roots in the community dating back to the 1950s. Growing up in a family that has been part of the Ninth Judicial Circuit for generations, she understands the values, challenges, and diversity of the community she now serves as an attorney and seeks to serve as Circuit Judge.

Her years of legal experience, leadership in the local bar, and active engagement in the community have strengthened her ability to serve the people of the Ninth Judicial Circuit with fairness, integrity, and practical judgment.
